MIXED LENTIL CURRY
INSTANT POT MIXED LENTIL CURRY
INSTANT POT SPINACH LENTIL CURRY

Serving: 4

Ingredients:

Mixed lentils - split pigeon peas (2 tbsn), Channadal (1/2 tbsn), yellow moongdal (1/2 tbsn), uraddal (1/2 tbsn)
Onion - 1 (small, sliced)
Green chilli - 3
Tomato - 2 (medium, sliced)
Broadbeans - 150 gms (chopped)
Tamarind paste - 3/4 tbsn
Sambar powder - 1 tbsn
Turmeric - 1/2 tspn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Oil - 2 tspn
Salt to taste

For Seasoning:

Mustard seeds - 1/4 tspn
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Red chilli - 2
Asafoetida - 1/8 tspn
Curry leaves - few

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients. Wash and soak the dal mixture for 1 hour.

2. Switch on the IP. Add the soaked dal mixture, onion, tomato, broadbeans, turmeric.

3. Add 2 1/2 cups of water. Mix well.

4. Close the lid. Press the manual for 12 mins in High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do Natural Pressure Release NPR.

5. Open the lid. Mix well using a wooden spatula.

6. Add sambar powder, salt, tamarind paste. Press the saute mode. Let it cook for 3-5 mins.

7. By the time do the seasoning with the mentioned ingredients.

8. Add the seasoning to the sambar. Switch off. Add coriander leaves.

9. Healthy mixed lentils sambar is ready to serve.

Notes:

You can add any vegetables or a mixed vegetables of your choice.
Add tamarind extract from a small gooseberry size of tamarind instead of tamarind paste.
This sambar goes well for both tiffen and rice.
