Ingredients:
Sona masoori rice - 1/2 cup (1 cup-160 ml)
Moong dal - 1/2 cup (roasted)
Ginger - 1 inch (finely chopped)
Cumin seeds - 2 tspn
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
Pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Oil - 1 tbsn
Ghee - 1 tbsn
Water - 3 1/2 cups
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Wash and Soak the rice and dal together for about an hour or more.
2. Switch on the IP. Add oil, ghee. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
3. Add chopped ginger, curry leaves. Saute for few seconds.
4. Add turmeric, pepper powder. Mix well. Add water.
5. Add the rice and dhal. Add salt. Add coriander leaves.
6. Press the manual or pressure cook mode for about 12 minutes. Then do NPR.
7. Open the pot. Give it a mix.
8. Healthy dhal Khichdi is ready. Pappad goes well as a side dish for this Khichdi.
Notes:
If you want to add onions, tomato, chillies you can add that too.
