When I saw this recipe in a television show, it looks interesting and I wanted to give a try with a few variation. The truth is that an easy, tasty and flavorful recipe that can be packed for your lunch box and also be prepared when you don't have much vegetables in your kitchen. Shallots - 15 (finely sliced)
Garlic - 8 (finely sliced)
Green chilli - 2 (slitted)
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
Turmeric - 1/4 tspn
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tspn
Uraddal - 1 tspn
Asafoetida - 1/4 tspn
Lemon juice - 1 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Sesame oil - 1 tbsn
Ghee - 2 tspn
Salt to taste
2. Heat a kadaai. Add oil, ghee, mustard seeds, uraddal.
3. Add shallots, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves. Saute till the shallots becomes light golden and crispy.
4. Add salt, turmeric and red chilli powder. Saute for few seconds until the raw smell goes.
5. Add rice and mix well. Add asafoetida and lemon juice.
6. Shallots Garlic Rice is ready to serve with vegetable raita or cucumber raita and vathal / paapad.
You can do the same recipe in basmati rice too.

Notes:
You can also use red onions for this. But shallots will definitely tastes best.You can do the same recipe in basmati rice too.
