Pot In Pot (PIP) method of cooking in IP always makes our work simple, enjoy our day and keeps us so relaxed. I have already posted PIP method of making south Indian dal and rice.
Tuvar dal, masoor dal (mixed) - 1/4 cup (each 2 tbsn)
Drumstick - 1 (chopped)
Carrot - 1/2 (chopped)
Broad beans - 10 (chopped)
Onion - 1 (thinly sliced)
Tomato - 1 (thinly sliced)
Red chilli - 4 (broken into small pieces)
Tamarind extract - from a small gooseberry size
Sambar powder - 1 tbsn
Turmeric - 1/4 tspn
Asafoetida - 1/4 tspn
Thaalippu vadagam - 1 tspn or (mustard seeds - 1/4 tspn, uraddal - 1 tspn, cumin seeds - 1/2 tspn, fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tspn)
Oil - 2 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Salt to taste
2. Switch on the IP. Press the saute mode. Add oil, thaalippu vadagam, red chillies.
3. Add onions and saute till it becomes transparent.
4. Add tomato and saute till it becomes mushy.
5. Add the vegetables, turmeric, salt, curry leaves and coriander leaves. Saute for few seconds.
6. Add the soaked dals and 2 cups of water.
7. Place the trivet on the dal mixture.
8. Keep the vessel containing the rice with water ratio (1:2 1/2) over the trivet.
9. Press the cancel button. Press the manual for 12 mins in sealed position in Low Pressure (LP). Then do NPR.
10. Take out the rice vessel and trivet.
11. Press the saute mode. Add tamarind extract and sambar powder. Cook for 3 mins.
12. Switch off. Garnish with coriander leaves.
13. Enjoy the hot rice and tasty vegetable sambar with anchovy fry or potato fry.

Method:
1. Grab all the ingredients. Rinse the dal mixture and soak for an hour.2. Switch on the IP. Press the saute mode. Add oil, thaalippu vadagam, red chillies.
