No Onion No Garlic Raw Banana Masala (Vazhakkai / Plantain Masala)

An easy vazhakkai recipe that goes well as a side dish for sambar and rasam rice. Raw bananas which has low sugar content, rich in dietary fibres and also in vitamin B6 and vitamin K. I have already posted RAW BANANA FRY. Check out my BROAD BEANS MASALA....Here is the recipe......

Cooking time: 3 mins

Serving: 2

Ingredients:

Raw banana - 1 (chopped into cubes)
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tspn
Uraddal - 1 tspn
Turmeric - 1/4 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Oil - 2 tspn
Salt to taste

To grind:

Grated coconut - 2 tbsn
Ginger - 1 inch
Peppercorns - 1/4 tspn

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Grind the ingredients for it into a coarse mixture without adding water.

3. Switch on the IP. Add oil, mustard seeds and uraddal.

4. Add chopped raw bananas, salt, turmeric, curry leaves. Saute for a minute.

5. Add the grinded masala. Mix well.

6. Add 1/4 cup of water. Mix well.

7. Close the lid. Press the steam mode for 2 mins in High Pressure in sealed position. Then do Quick Release QR.

8. Open the lid.

9. Easy raw banana masala is ready to serve.

Notes:

You can add garlic instead of ginger.
If you like to have onions you can add that too while sauteing that also tastes good and even gives more volume to the dish.
