Instant pot Coriander Dal


This is an easy recipe with few ingredients but coriander leaves as a main ingredient that goes well with plain rice and rotis too.  I have already posted few Dal recipes that can be done easily in instant pot. Check out that too.....
INSTANT POT SOUTH INDIAN DAL
INSTANT POT TOMATO DAL
INSTANT POT MIXED DAL CURRY

Cooking time: 14 mins

Serving: 3-4

Ingredients:

Tuvardal /split pigeon peas - 1/3 cup
Shallots - 4
Coriander leaves - 2 cups (chopped)
Ginger - 1 inch
Green chilli - 2
Turmeric - 1/4 tspn
Red chilli powder - 1/4 tspn
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tspn
Asafoetida - 1/8 tspn
Oil - 2 tspn
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients. Wash and soak the dal for 1 hr.

2. Grind the shallots, ginger, green chilli, red chilli powder, cumin into a coarse mixture without adding water.

3. Add the dal, grinded mixture, turmeric, 1 cup of water in the pot. Mix well.

4. Close the lid. Press the manual for 12 mins in High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do Natural Pressure Release NPR.

5. Open the lid. Add the salt, coriander leaves. Press the saute mode. Let it cook for 2 mins.




6. Season it with mustard seeds.

7. Add the seasoning mix to the dal mixture.

8. Yummy coriander dal is ready to serve.

Notes:

You can add moongdal instead of tuvardal.
You can omit shallots if you like.
