Flaxseed Powder -Version 2 (Aazhividhai Podi)

As you all know flaxseeds have enormous health benefits it can be taken in our diet in the form of powder, salad toppings, toppings in our dosa or uthappam. I have already posted another version of FLAXSEED POWDER. Check out that too. This is a more healthy version because we are adding only peppercorns for spicyness. FLAXSEED PODI IDLY
FLAXSEED GARLIC RICE
BRUSSEL SPROUTS MASALA WITH FLAXSEED POWDER

Serving: 400 gms

Ingredients:

Flaxseed - 1 cup
Black uraddal - 1/4 cup
Channadal - 1/4 cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tbsn
Peppercorns - 2 1/2 tbsn
Curry leaves - 1/4 cup
Asafoetida - 1/2 tspn
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Dry fry each ingredient one after the other until it's roasted well.






3. Cool down completely. Add asafoetida and salt. Grind all the ingredients in a mixer jar into a coarse powder.

4. Store it in an airtight container. Flaxseed Powder is ready to serve with sesame oil or dollop of ghee in hot rice,idlys and dosas.

Notes:

Once flaxseeds pops down remove it immediately from the heat. Long time dry frying makes the flaxseed to ooze oil out of it.
