Mutton bones soup in IP (Instant Pot elumbu chaaru)

I had few extra mutton bones after cooking Dindugal Thalappakatti biriyani. Since they were all bone pieces I thought to make a soup with that. This soup is a perfect choice for a cold evening. Check out my other VEGETARIAN HEALTHY SOUPS, INSTANT POT CHICKEN SOUP, INSTANT POT MUTTON DAL SOUP.

Ingredients:

Mutton bones - 200 gms
Shallots - 10 (crushed)
Tomato - 1 (small, chopped)
Ginger garlic paste - 2tspn
Turmeric - 1/2 tspn
Kuzhambhu chilli powder - 2tspn or(coriander powder - 2tspn, red chilli powder - 1 tspn)
Fennel powder - 3/4 tspn
Cumin pepper powder - 1 tspn
Pepper powder - 1 tspn
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Cloves - 2
Bayleaf - 2 (small)
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Sesame oil - 1 tbsn
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Switch on the IP. Press the saute mode. Add oil, cinnamon, cloves, bayleaf.

3. Add shallots and saute till it becomes light golden brown.

4. Add tomato and saute for few seconds.

5. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.

6. Add mutton bones and saute for a minute.

7. Add salt, turmeric, kuzhambhu chilli powder, cumin pepper powder, fennel powder. Saute for few seconds.

8. Add 2 1/2 cups of water.

9. Close the lid. Press the cancel button. Press the soup mode (30 mins) in sealed position in High Pressure (HP). Then do Natural Pressure Release (NPR).

10. Switch off. Open the lid. Add pepper powder.

11. Garnish with coriander leaves. Enjoy the soup in your favorite bowl.
