Instant Pot Mutton Dal Soup

This one is a healthy soup which you can feed your little ones (from one year baby - by filtering the stock after cooking the whole soup) that provides proteins, fat and vitamins all together.  I have already posted SOUP recipes. Cooking time: 35 mins

Serving: 2-3

Ingredients:

Mutton - 150 gms (preferably bones)
Tuvardal / split pigeon peas - 2 tbsn
Shallots - 5 (crushed)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Ginger - 1 inch (grated)
Garlic - 3 (crushed)
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Fennel seeds - 1 tspn
Peppercorns - 1 tspn
Pepper powder - as per your taste
Bayleaf - 1
Lemon juice - 1 tspn
Sesame oil - 1 tbsn
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Water - 2 1/2 cup
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients. Wash and Soak the dal for 30 mins but not compulsory.

2. Switch on the IP. Press the saute mode. Add oil, bayleaf, cumin, fennel seeds, peppercorns

3. Add shallots, curry leaves and saute for a minute.

4. Add garlic and ginger. Saute till the raw smell goes.

5. Add tomato and saute till it becomes mushy.

6. Add mutton, salt, turmeric and saute for 2 mins.

7. Add tuvardal and mix well.

8. Add water, coriander leaves. Close the lid. Press the soup mode (30 mins) in High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do Natural Pressure Release NPR.


9. Open the lid. Discard the bayleaf. Add lemon juice and pepper powder. Garnish with coriander leaves.

10. Healthy mutton dal soup is ready to serve.

Notes:

After cooking done you can strain the soup using a strainer and feed your little ones.
