Instant Pot Soya Chunks Coriander Korma (IP Mealmaker kothamalli Kuruma)

Kormas can be prepared tastily without adding coconut but grinding few spices with peanut gives you the creamy texture to it. I have already posted a gravy with coconut in IP. Check out that too....

Cooking time: 9 mins

Serving: 4-5

Ingredients:

Soya Chunks - 1 cup (soak in hot water for 10 mins, squeeze out the water, wash with cold water, squeeze, repeat four times)
Frozen peas - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1 (medium size, chopped)
Tomato - 1 (medium size, chopped)
Coriander powder - 3 tspn
Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tspn
Turmeric - 1/2 tspn
Bayleaf - 1
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Cloves - 3
Oil - 2 tspn
Salt to taste

To Grind:

Roasted peanut - 1/4 cup
Fennel seeds - 1 tspn
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsn
Ginger - 1 inch
Garlic - 4 small cloves
Coriander leaves - 2 cups (chopped)

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Grind the ingredients for it into a fine paste by adding little water.

3. Switch on the IP. Press the saute mode. Add oil, cinnamon, cloves, bayleaf.

4. Add onion and saute till it becomes translucent.

5. Add tomato and saute till it becomes mushy.

6. Add mealmaker, peas, salt, all the spice powders. Mix well. Saute for about 30 seconds.


7. Add the grinded paste. Saute for 10 seconds.

8. Add 1 1/2 cup of water.

9. Close the lid. Press the manual for 4 mins in High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do Natural Pressure Release NPR.

10. Delicious soya chunks coriander korma is ready to serve.


Notes:

This korma goes well with rotis, rice and even for idly and dosas.
You can skip the red chilli powder and add extra green chillies for spicyness.
