Instant Pot Butter Beans Pulao (Lima beans / Double beans Pulao)

Butter beans (double beans / Lima beans) has a lot of nutritional value of protein, fat, energy, minerals, carbohydrate, iron and phosphorus. You can prepare it like a masala, gravy for poori and rotis. And can be added in biriyanis too. Check out my DOUBLE BEANS GRAVY and other PULAO AND BIRIYANI varieties too....

Ingredients:

Basmati rice - 1 cup (1 cup-200 ml)
Double beans - 1/3 cup (soaked overnight or 6 hrs)
Frozen peas - 1/3 cup (optional)
Onion - 1 (small, sliced or half if big)
Tomato - 1 (medium, sliced)
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tbsn
Green chilli - 2 (slitted)
Red chilli powder - 3/4 tspn
Turmeric - 1/4 tspn
Bayleaf - 1
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Cloves - 2
Cardamom - 1
Staranise - 1
Hapok buds (marathi moggu) - 1
Javithri - 1 (small piece)
Shahi jeera - 1/4 tspn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Ghee - 1 tbsn
Oil - 2 tspn
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients. Wash and soak the rice for 30 mins.

2. Switch on the IP. Press the saute mode. Add all the whole garam masala (cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, staranise, Marathi moggu, bayleaf, javithri, shahi jeera).

3. Add onions, green chillies and saute till it becomes translucent.

4. Add tomato, salt and saute till it becomes mushy.

5. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.

6. Add double beans, peas, turmeric, red chilli powder. Saute for a minute.

7. Add 1 1/2 cup of water.

8. Add rice, coriander leaves. Mix well.

9. Close the lid. Press the manual for 6 mins in High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do Natural Pressure Release NPR.

10. Open the lid. Mix gently.

11. Yummy butter beans pulao is ready to serve with onion raita.

Notes:

You can do the same with normal rice too.
You can add mint leaves too.
