This recipe is done usually with sura meen (shark fish). My friend told once that halibut tastes similar to shark. When i saw this fish in our sea food store I immediately picked up and thought of doing the puttu (scrambled) in which I couldn't find even a bit of difference with the taste of sura puttu. Actually halibut doesn't leave much smell when boiling whereas the shark smells more. Here is the yummy recipe of the fish puttu. Check out my other seafood recipes....

Onion - 1 (medium size, finely chopped)
Green chilli - 4 (finely chopped)
Garlic - 6 (finely chopped)
Turmeric - 1/2 tspn
Red chilli powder - 1/4 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tspn
Grated coconut - 1 tbsn
Oil - 3 tspn
Salt to taste
2. Place the fish in the inner pot with enough water to cover (3/4 th). Add 1/4tspn of turmeric.
3. Switch on the IP. Close the lid. Press the manual for 3 mins in High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do Natural Pressure Release NPR.
4. Open the lid. Take out the fish. Cool down completely. After that remove the bones and scramble it by using the hands.
5. Heat a kadaai. Add mustard seeds.
6. Add garlic, curry leaves. Once it starts coming golden add onions and green chillies. Saute till it becomes transparent.
7. Add salt, turmeric, red chilli powder. Saute till the raw smell of chilli powder goes.
8. Add the scrambled fish. Saute well in a medium flame for 5 mins until all gets mixed well.
9. Add coconut. Mix well.
10. Yummilicious fish puttu is ready to serve hot.
This fish puttu goes well with sambar and rasam rice. Heavenly tastes with plain hot rice....

Ingredients:
Halibut fish - 500 gmsOnion - 1 (medium size, finely chopped)
Green chilli - 4 (finely chopped)

Red chilli powder - 1/4 tspn

Grated coconut - 1 tbsn

Notes:
You can try this recipe with any fishes like king fish, pomfret that do not have much bones in it.
After removing the fish from boiling you can place it in a strainer so that the water goes off completely or squeeze out using your hands gently.This fish puttu goes well with sambar and rasam rice. Heavenly tastes with plain hot rice....
