Ingredients:
Foxtail Millet - 1/2 cupIdly rice - 1/2 cup
Black uraddal - 1/2 cup
Oil - 1 tspn
Ghee - 1/2 tbsn
Cumin seeds - 2 tspn
Peppercorns - 1 tspn
Dry Ginger powder - 1/2 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Salt to taste
Oil for preparing dosa
Method:
1. Grab all the ingredients.2. Wash and soak the uraddal in a bowl for 3 hrs. Wash and soak the millet and idly rice together in a bowl for 3 hrs.
3. Grind the uraddal to a smooth paste and transfer it to a bowl.
4. Grind the millet idly rice mixture to a coarse mixture and add it to the uraddal paste. Add salt and water. The batter should be like a dosa batter.
5. Do the tempering now. Add oil, ghee. Add cumin seeds, peppercorns, curry leaves. Add this to the batter. Add dry ginger powder. Mix well.
7. After a minute flip it on the other side. Cook for another minute.
8. Healthy THINAI KARUPPU ULUNDHU DOSAI is ready to serve with any chutney.
Notes:
You can add whole or split black uraddal.For more taste cook the dosas in ghee.
No need to ferment this batter. Just grind it and prepare.
