Instant Pot Barley Sprouts Pongal

Ingredients:

Barley - 1/2 cup
Sprouted moong beans - 1/2 cup
Ginger - 1 inch (finely chopped)
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Turmeric - 1/8 tspn
Oil - 2 tspn
Ghee - 2 tspn
Water - 1 1/2 cup
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients. Wash and soak the barley for 1 hr in warm water.

2. Switch on the IP. Press the saute mode. Add oil, ghee, cumin seeds, pepper powder, ginger and curry leaves.

3. Add sprouts. Mix well.

4. Add soaked barley, turmeric, salt. Saute for few seconds.

5. Add water. Mix well.

6. Close the lid. Press the manual or pressure cook mode for 12 mins in High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do Natural Pressure Release NPR. Open the lid.

7. Enjoy the yummy healthy barley sprouts pongal hot....

Notes:

You can have chutney or sambar as a side dish for this pongal. You can add peppercorns instead of powder.
