Mom's chicken gravy in IP

This recipe is a yummilicious dish that is prepared without coconut. My mom used to prepare many non veg dishes in this way for both tiffin and rice and it tastes really yummy.

Cooking time: 15 mins

Serving: 3-4

Ingredients:

Chicken - 600 gms
Onion - 1 (big, finely chopped)
Tomato - 2 (big, finely sliced)
Green chilli - 5
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsn
Sambar powder - 3 tbsn or (coriander powder - 4 tspn, red chilli powder - 3 tspn)
Turmeric - 1/2 tspn
Pepper powder - 1 tspn
Cinnamon - 1 1/2 inch
Cloves - 4
Fennel seeds - 1/2 tbsn
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Sesame oil - 4 tspn
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Switch on the IP. Press saute mode. Add oil, cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds.

3. Add onions, green chillies, curry leaves and saute till the onion becomes light golden brown.

4. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.

5. Add tomatoes and saute till it becomes mushy.

6. Add chicken, salt, turmeric and saute for 5 mins.

7. Add sambar powder and saute for 2-3 mins.


8. Add 1/2 cup of water.

9. Close the lid. Press the manual for 6 mins High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do NPR (Natural Pressure Release).

10. Open the lid. Add pepper powder and press saute mode. Cook for 2 mins. Add coriander leaves. Switch off.


11. Tasty chicken gravy is ready to serve.

Notes:

This gravy can be served for idly, dosas, poori, chappathi, parotta, aapam, idyappam, naan and plain rice.
