This recipe is my mom's method of making idly milagai podi. This podi will always helps us when there is a lack of chutneys during breakfast and also during travel.
Uraddal -1 cup (200 ml)
Red chilli - 25
Curry leaves - 2 sticks
Asafoetida - 3/4 tspn
Salt to taste
2. Dry roast each ingredient one by one in a kadaai. Mix all ingredients together. Grind it coarsely.
3. Flavourful podi is ready. You can store it in airtight container. Serve for hot idlys with sesame oil.
The color of the dals should become nice golden color to get the nice aroma after grinding.

Yields: 600 gms

Channa dal - 1 cup (200 ml)Uraddal -1 cup (200 ml)

Method:
1. Grab all the ingredients.2. Dry roast each ingredient one by one in a kadaai. Mix all ingredients together. Grind it coarsely.
Notes:
Roast each ingredient in the kadaai without taking your hands for even roasting.The color of the dals should become nice golden color to get the nice aroma after grinding.
