Mild masala chicken curry in IP (Chicken kuzhambhu in IP)

Chicken kuzhambhu with freshly grinded spices always tastes divine, right? If you like to have chicken kuzhambhu with a mild masala and less spicyness,  then this would be yours. Chicken with bones when cooked as coconut curry gives a nice taste to it.

Serving: 4-5

Ingredients:

Chicken - 500 gms
Onion - 1/2 (medium size, finely chopped)
Tomato - 1 (big, finely sliced)
Green chilli - 4
Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tbsn
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few
Turmeric - 1/2 tspn
Coriander powder - 1 tbsn
Red chilli powder - 1 tbsn
Sesame oil - 4 tbsn (2+2)
Salt to taste

To Grind:

Onion - 1 (big, chopped)
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Cloves - 3
Fennel seeds - 2 tspn
Cumin seeds - 1 1/2 tspn
Peppercorns - 1 tspn
Red chilli - 2
Curry leaves - few
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Kuskus - 1 tspn

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Switch on the IP. Press the saute mode. Add oil, cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorns, red chillies. Saute for a minute.

3. Add onions, curry leaves and saute for few minutes until it becomes light golden brown.

4. Add coconut and kuskus. Mix well. Switch off.

5. Once it cools down grind it into a paste using a mixer jar.

6. Again in saute mode add oil, onions, curry leaves and green chillies. Saute till it becomes transparent.

7. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.

8. Add tomato and saute till it becomes mushy.

9. Add chicken, salt. Saute for about 2 mins.

10. Add turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder. Saute again till the masala coats the chicken well.

11. Add the grinded paste and 3 cups of water. Press the cancel button. Press the manual mode for 6 mins in HP (High Pressure) in sealed position. Then NPR ( Natural Pressure Release).


12. Switch off. Open the lid and add few curry leaves and coriander leaves.

13. Tasty chicken kuzhambhu is ready to serve.

Notes:

This kuzhambhu can be served for plain rice, poori, chappathi, parotta, idly and dosa.
Always buy chicken ( when buying whole chicken) which has less weight since the meat and bones of that will be tender and tasty to eat.
Always try to use sesame oil for chicken kuzhambhu to get more tastier.
