Greengram or moong bean has a good antitoxic benefits that increases immunity, increases mental focus and alertness, regulates blood pressure, protects liver and acts as an antiviral agent. This recipe is a tasty paruppu kadaisal and when doing the same in IP it's easy too.
Shallots - 8
Tomato - 1 (small)
Garlic - 3
Green chilli - 3
Turmeric - 1/4 tspn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tspn
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Red chilli - 2
Asafoetida - 1/4 tspn
Curry leaves - few
2. Switch on the IP. Press the saute mode. Dry roast the greengram for few mins until it changes it's colour lightly. Wash the dal and throw back into the pot.
3. Add shallots, garlic, green chillies, tomato, turmeric, coriander leaves and 1 1/4 cups of water.
4. Close the lid. Press the manual / Pressure cook mode for 20 mins in HP in sealed position. Then do NPR.
5. Open the lid.
6. Give tempering with the ingredients given for it and add salt.
7. Mash the dal using a wooden spatula.
8. Enjoy the healthy dal kadaisal with a dollop of ghee or sesame oil with hot rice.
You can even temper at first to make your work simple.

Notes:
Dry roast prevents the gumminess of the dal.You can even temper at first to make your work simple.
