As the name says all u need to dumb the ingredients in a cooker and just season it atlast. It's very mild and tasty sambar that you can feed even a six months baby.
Onion - 1/2 (chopped)
Tomato - 1 1/2 (sliced)
Garlic - 1 pod (chopped)
Green chilli - 2
Turmeric - 1/4 tspn
Red chilli powder - 3/4 tspn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Salt to taste
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Red chilli - 2
Asafoetida - 1/4 tspn
Curry leaves - few
Oil - 2 tspn
2. In a pressure cooker add the soaked dal, onion, tomatoes, green chillies, garlic, turmeric, red chilli powder and salt with 3 cups of water. Close the lid and cook for 6 whistles.
3. Once the pressure is released open the cooker and smash well. Cook for another 5 mins.
4. Season with the ingredients mentioned. Add coriander leaves and switch off.
5. Hot and mild tiffin sambar is ready to serve.
The tanginess comes from the tomatoes, so no need of adding tamarind here.
You can prepare the same recipe with tuvar dal too.
This sambar goes well with idly, dosa and pongal.

Mustard seeds - 1/2 tspnCumin seeds - 1 tspn

Oil - 2 tspn
Method:
1. Grab all the ingredients. Dry roast the moong dal until the aroma comes. Wash and soak it in water for one hour.2. In a pressure cooker add the soaked dal, onion, tomatoes, green chillies, garlic, turmeric, red chilli powder and salt with 3 cups of water. Close the lid and cook for 6 whistles.

Notes:
You can use small onions which will definitely enhance the taste.The tanginess comes from the tomatoes, so no need of adding tamarind here.
