Banana flower has many medicinal properties that are good for diabetic patients,treat a number of digestive problems,regulate menstrual bleeding and also prevents anemia.
Onion- 2 (medium size, 1 1/2 for grinding and the remaining for sauteing)
Tomato - 1 (small, finely chopped)
Green chilli - 2
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsn
Coconut - 1/4 cup (grated)
Fennel seeds - 1 tspn
Kuskus - 1 tspn
Kuzhambhu chilli powder - 2 tbsn
Cinnamon - 2 pieces
Cloves - 3
Oil - 4 tspn (2+2)
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few
Salt to taste
2. Heat a kadaai. Add oil, onions.Saute till it becomes golden brown. Then add coconut, kuzhambhu chilli powder, turmeric,salt, cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds and kuskus.Mix well and switch off.
3. Once it cools down grind the above mixture into a fine paste.
4. Heat a cooker and add oil. Add onions, curry leaves and green chilli. Saute for few minutes.
5. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.
6. Add tomato and saute till it becomes mushy.
7. Add banana flower and saute for a minute.
8. Add the grinded paste and add 3 cups of water.
9. Close the lid and cook for 4-5 whistles.
10. Switch off and the kuzhambhu is now ready.
