Simply Superb Bisibellabath ( Foxtail Millet Bisibellabath)

This is a super easy method of making bisibellabath like an one pot meal. If you feel lazy to cook sometimes then this will be a perfect choice because we are going to mix everything in a pot and cook easily in few minutes.

Cooking time: 25 mins

Serving: 2-3

Ingredients:

Foxtail Millet (Thinai arisi) - 3/4 cup
Tuvar dal - 1/4 cup
Onion - 1/2 (chopped)
Tomato - 1 (chopped)
Garlic - 4 (small cloves, chopped)
Green chilli - 2 (roughly broken)
Carrot - 1/2 (chopped)
Beans - 5 (chopped)
Drumstick - 1 (chopped)
Sambar powder-1 1/2 tspn or (coriander powder - 2 tspn n red chilli powder - 1 tspn)
Turmeric - 1/4 tspn
Cinnamon - 1 (2 inch)
Bayleaf - 1
Asafoetida - 1/4 tspn
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Salt to taste

For seasoning:

Oil - 1 tspn
Ghee - 1 tspn
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tspn
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Red chilli - 2
Curry leaves - few

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients. Wash and Soak the millet and dal together for about an hour.

2. Heat a pressure cooker. Add the soaked millet and dal, onion, tomato green chillies, garlic, carrot, beans, drumstick, bayleaf, cinnamon, turmeric, salt, sambar powder and asafoetida with 2 cups of water. Cook for 2 whistles.

3. Once the pressure is released open the cooker. Heat a pan . Add oil and ghee. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies and curry leaves.

4. Add this seasoning to the millet mixture and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves.

5. The simply superb aromatic bisibellabath is ready to serve.

Notes:

You can try the same recipe with other millets and rice too.
Adding vegetables is purely optional, I added just to intake of vegetables and rice at the same time for a wholesome meal. Tastes equally good without vegetables too.
Potato fry,raw banana and anchovy fry gives a good company for this bisibellabath.

      For this method u don't need to saute...just add all the ingredients in Instant pot and press manual for 12 mins in High Pressure, then do Natural Pressure Release..u can add the tadka at last...
