Instant Pot Millet Garlic Porridge (Saamai Poondu Kanji)

I have already posted garlic porridge with barnyard millet. This is done with little millet with spinach that serves you a healthy breakfast. Check out my other porridge recipes.

Ingredients:

Roasted Little Millet (saamai arisi) - 1/4 cup (dry roast the millet until the color changes slightly)
Spinach - 1 cup (chopped)
Garlic - 4
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Peppercorns - 1/2 tspn
Buttermilk - 2 cups
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Add all the ingredients except buttermilk in the inner pot with 2 cups of water.

3. Close the lid. Press the manual for 5 mins in High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do Natural Pressure Release NPR.

4. Open the lid. Smash well using a wooden spatula. Cool down completely.

5. Add buttermilk and mix well.

6. Healthy millet garlic porridge is ready. Serve with any pickle or shallots or dried chillies.

Notes:

You can add fenugreek leaves or drumstick leaves instead of spinach.
You can prepare the same recipe with other millets too.

PRESSURE COOKER METHOD:

Cook it for about 1-2 whistles and follow the same method as above.
