Poondu milagu kozhi (Garlic pepper chicken)

Garlic and pepper is a good blend in any kind of non vegetarian dishes. Spice lovers can enjoy the recipe a lot with no doubts.

Serving: 2-3

Ingredients:

Chicken - 500 gms (boneless, chopped into chunks)
Onion - 1 (small, finely chopped)
Tomato - 1 (big, finely sliced)
Garlic - 1/2 cup (thinly sliced)
Red chilli - 5
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn
Pepper powder - 3 tspn
Cinnamon - 2 pieces
Fennel seeds - 1 tspn
Sesame Oil - 4 tbsn
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Heat a kadaai. Add oil, cinnamon and fennel seeds.

3. Add red chillies, onion, garlic. Saute for about 7 mins.


4. Add tomatoes and saute till it becomes mushy.

5. Add chicken,salt, turmeric and saute for a minute.

6. Add pepper powder and saute till the chicken gets cooked and nicely coated with all the masalas.


7. Add coriander leaves and curry leaves. Switch off.

8. Hot poondu milagu kozhi is ready to taste.

Notes:

Chicken with bones tastes best. Sesame oil is best for this recipe.
This can be served as a semi dry starter, side dish for dal rice, sambar, rasam and curd rice.
Vegetarians can try the same recipe with mushrooms.
