Drumstick leaves soup (Murunga keeraisoup - version2)


The benefits of drumstick leaves goes n goes for a long way.The leaves has the antibacterial and antifungal properties, because of these properties they are useful in treating fever,eye and ear infections.It also treats hyperthyroidism, increases milk production in lactation,boosts the metabolism in the body.

My version 1 soup is made with tuvar dal,but this version is  a very simple method without dal that can be prepared in a few minutes.

Cooking time: 20 mins

Serving: 2

Ingredients:

Drumstick leaves - 1 cup
Onion - 1/4 (chopped)
Tomato - 1/2 (chopped)
Ginger - 1 inch (chopped)
Jeera pepper powder - 1 tspn
Turmeric - 1/4 tspn
Water - 3 cups
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Grind onion, tomato, ginger, jeera pepper powder, turmeric and salt in a mixie into a fine paste.

3. Heat a pressure cooker. Add the drumstick leaves, grinded paste and add water.


4. Cook for 4 whistles. Switch off and enjoy the hot piping soup.

Notes:

You can add rasam powder instead of jeera pepper powder.
You can filter the leaves using a strainer and have the soup alone.
