Instant Pot Thinai Karuveppillai Soup (Foxtail Millet Curry leaves Soup)

This is a perfect soup for a rainy cold weather and also helps in fighting against cold and fever. Foxtail Millet boosts your energy levels and adding ginger soothes the throat with pepper flavour. Check out my other VEG SOUP RECIPES , NONVEG SOUP RECIPES and MILLET RECIPES....

Ingredients:

Roasted foxtail Millet - 1/4 cup
Bayleaf - 2
Cinnamon - 1 inch
Cloves - 2
Lime juice - 10 drops
Roasted Sunflower seeds - 1 tspn
Roasted flaxseeds - 1 tspn
Sesame oil - 1 tspn
Salt to taste

To Grind:

Curry leaves - 1/2 cup
Ginger - 1 inch
Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
Peppercorns - 1 tspn
Fennel seeds - 1 tspn
Prunes - 3
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tspn

Method:

1. Grab all the ingredients.

2. Grind the ingredients for it into a fine paste by adding little water.

3. Switch on the IP. Add oil, cinnamon, cloves, bayleaf.

4. Add the roasted millet, grinded mixture, salt. Add 2 1/2 cups of water. Mix well.



5. Close the lid. Press the manual for 2 mins in High Pressure HP in sealed position. Then do Natural Pressure Release NPR.

6. Open the lid.

7. Garnish with flaxseeds and sunflower seeds. Enjoy the healthy Thinai Karuveppillai Soup...

Notes:

The quantity I mentioned gives a super spicy soup... You can alter the ginger and peppercorns measurements as per your spicy level.
You can prepare the soup in an open pot too...

PRESSURE COOKER METHOD:


Follow the same procedure in cooker  by giving  2 whistles....
